A complimentary initial consultation is held to discuss your requirements and to provide an estimate for the cost of your garment. Should the estimate meet your approval, the design process shall commence.
Design work entails a flat fee of $70.00 and includes unlimited designs until you are completely satisfied. A second consultation is held to discuss the design and fabric. The design fee is deducted from the total cost of the garment, should you proceed with placing a booking.
A formal quotation, Service Agreement and deposit invoice for 25% of the total cost will be provided upon your approval of the final design and fabric. Once the Agreement is signed, your booking is secured. Bookings for wedding gowns usually require four to six months notice.
A calico toile is created to enable us to check the fit and provide you with peace of mind regarding the design. The toile usually requires two fittings. A further payment is required upon completion of the toile with the balance payable upon collection of the finished garment.
Wedding dresses are usually commenced eight to ten weeks prior to your wedding date and completed two weeks prior. Event wear is usually commenced six weeks prior to the date of the event and completed one week prior. Fittings are arranged at mutually agreeable times throughout construction, the number of which will depend on the style of the garment.
We recognise you may wish to involve close friends or family members in this special process. We recommend you attend your initial consultation alone or with just one support person to ensure your own ideas are clearly conveyed. You are welcome to bring up to three companions to your fittings, a number we can comfortably accommodate in our studio. Children are not permitted in our studio for safety reasons and out of respect for the delicate nature of other clients’ gowns that may be under construction. Please note we do not have separate waiting facilities for your fiancé.
Consultations and fittings are conducted on premise by appointment, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday 9.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m., Wednesday and Friday 9:00a.m. to 5.pm. and Saturdays 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Ample parking is available and we are easily accessible by a 14 minute express train from Southern Cross Station.
